It is a well known fact that in order to remain healthy and physically fit, and to be energetic, you need to take part in an exercise program, on a
regular basis. In addition you need to include proper nutrition, and sufficient amounts of rest in order to remain healthy. Another key component is having a positive mental attitude. Positive thinking tends to lead to positive action, in turn improving your self esteem, which continues the cycle towards being healthier.
Having a positive mental outlook and believing in yourself are very important when you are beginning a new exercise program. Because your mental outlook has a very big effect on your physical helath, it is a great idea to begin be making changes here. Are your thoughts usually positive or are they negative? Do you expect good things to happen in your life or bad things? The answers to these questions should give you a pretty good idea as to where you stand.
Some ways to help you develop a more positive attitude are:
-Re-write your internal dialogue. Take a sheet of paper and make two columns. Over the next few days, each time you have a negative thought, write it down in the left column, then in the right column rewrite the thought with a positive spin. After praticing this for a while, your mind will make a habit of it.
-Help someone else. whenever we help others it gives us an immediate sense of joy.
-Try and appreciate the simple things in life.
-Laugh more often.
-Believe you are incharge of your life, and your destiny.
